A heat pump heats your home in in the winter... and cools your home the summer
THE NUMBERS ADD UP To GREATER EFFICIENCY.
When you select an XL141 air conditioner or heat pump, you can be
assured that you've made an energy efficient choice in home comfort. Our XL14i
air conditioner has a SEER rating of up to 15.00. SEER stands for Seasonal
Energy Efficiency Ratio and measures the cooling efficiency of an air
conditioner. The higher the SEER, the greater the energy efficiency. Every heat
pump system has an energy efficiency rating, as well. Our XL14i heat pump has an
HSPF of up to 9.85. HSPF stands for Heating Seasonal Performance Factor and
refers to the efficiency of the heating mode of heat pumps. The high SEER and
HSPF ratings of our XL14i air conditioner and heat pump add up to greater energy
savings for you.
XL14i AIR CONDITIONER and
HEAT PUMP FEATURES:
XL14i AIR CONDITIONER:

WHY A HIGHER EFFICIENCY RATING CAN SAVE ENERGY.
Estimated Annual Cooling Cost Comparisons.
If
your current air conditioner or heat pump is more than 10 years old, it could be
operating at lower than 8.00 SEER. Compare the estimated annual cooling bill of
a 8.00 SEER system to that of a new system with a higher SEER such as Trane's
11.00, 12.00, 13.00, or 14.00. For instance, if the annual cooling bill of a
8.00 SEER system was $1000, it could potentially cost only $571 for a 14.00 SEER
system or an annual savings of 43%. Now, that makes sense, doesn't it?
*Minimum efficiency established by the
Department of Energy.
Potential energy savings may vary depending on your personal lifestyle, system
settings, equipment maintenance, local climate, actual construction and
installation of equipment and duct system.
Why a Matched System is Important.
A heating and cooling system is made up of individual parts. And, even
though each component is separate, they're all designed and engineered to work
together as a system. A perfectly balanced system is the best way to get the
highest comfort and efficiency. When you match an XL14i air conditioner with a
Trane high efficiency gas furnace, or an XL14i heat pump with a Trane air
handler, you can rest easy knowing you've installed a system that can have an
efficiency rating of up to 15.00 SEER.
The Right Size System For Your Comfort
Needs.
When buying a home comfort system, selecting the right size is crucial. For
instance, an air conditioner that is too large will cool your home quickly but
you still may not feel comfortable. It will satisfy the thermostat before it can
remove sufficient moisture from the air.
As you might expect, a system that is too small just cannot get the job done.
Your local independent Trane Comfort Specialist dealer can help you determine
the right size system for your home comfort needs with an energy analysis of
your home.
The dealer will measure your windows, doors, walls, floor, check the insulation,
ductwork, and building materials, plus other things that can directly affect
system size. This is the best way to help you select a system that fits your
particular lifestyle and home comfort needs.
A Tradition of Innovation
Innovation and expert engineering have been a hallmark of The Trane
Company since 1931 when our founder Reuben Trane patented the company's first
air conditioning system. From that time on, Trane has been a leader in the
advancement of heating and air conditioning technology.
